Furby Baby is a smaller version of the popular Furby toy, first released by Tiger Electronics on August 31, 1999.
Furby Baby, as the name suggests, was smaller in size compared to the original Furby. This toy had similar features: the ability to produce various sounds and words, respond to touch, and interact with other Furbys via the infrared port.
Furby Babies typically used more infantile language to emphasize their childlike nature. They produced higher-pitched sounds and used simpler phrases.
Some Furby Baby versions came with additional accessories or even their own small clothing, adding personalization options for the toy.
The Furby Baby’s vocabulary is 25% larger than the 1998 Furby’s. Furby Baby also has 23% more phrases. They have built-in “Easter eggs” and “games.” All Furby Babies have white eyelashes, and they were available in 25 different colors, including one special edition. English-language Furby Babies were voiced by Mary Kay Bergman in 1999, and the Japanese versions by Taeko Kawata.
To start a conversation between a Furby and a Furby Baby, you need to tickle the Furby’s belly or pet its back — otherwise they cannot communicate. Furby Babies could also communicate with each other.
Subsequently, there were several variations of Furby children, such as the Emoto-Tronic Baby, Party Rockers, and Furblings.
